Position Information
Rosemeadow Public is a welcoming school located in a diverse community, serving around 740 students. The school is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that values cultural diversity and aims for academic success, with 116 Aboriginal students and 42% of students coming from non-English speaking backgrounds (NESB). To support students with specific needs, the school offers seven support classes, including those for Autism (AU) and Multi-Categorical (Multi cat), providing personalised learning experiences tailored to each student's unique requirements.
A strong emphasis on Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is a key aspect of the school's educational approach, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment that encourages positive behaviour, resilience, and respect among students. Rosemeadow Public School also prides itself on its community engagement initiatives and wellbeing programs, which enhance students' social, emotional, and mental health, ensuring they receive support both in and out of the classroom.
Additionally, the school offers a School as Community Centre (SACC) program for children aged 0-8 years, providing a safe and nurturing space for younger students and supporting families in the community. The dedicated team of teachers ranges from those with extensive experience to newly appointed. General Selection Criteria
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
Demonstrate a strong commitment to leading wellbeing initiatives and managing student welfare by implementing comprehensive support systems that address the diverse needs of all students. Foster a positive school culture through engaging programs that promote inclusivity, respectful relationships, and a sense of belonging, ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and valued in the school community.
Engage in robust school planning processes that utilise data-driven decision-making to identify areas for improvement and set measurable goals. Foster collaboration among staff, students, and the community to develop and implement strategies that enhance educational outcomes, ensuring that all stakeholders are actively involved in the continuous improvement of school environment and student learning.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to whole school initiatives and the priorities set by education system that extend beyond the individual school. Actively participate in collaborative efforts with other schools and educational bodies to implement best practices, share resources, and contribute to system-wide improvements, ensuring alignment with broader educational goals and fostering a culture of continuous growth and development.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
