- To support a strong cyber safety culture and to embed cyber as a business risk, the Application Security Manager serves as a trusted advisor and partner to the Business and Technology domains. To continue driving a strong cyber security posture, Application Security Manager is responsible for driving Qantas Group Cyber Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) program by working with stakeholders to embed security best practices into development and delivery processes - helping security shift-left to champion the DevSecOps philosophy across the Qantas Group.
- The Application Security Manager empowers product and development teams to ship secure software while taking a secure by design approach, enables teams while providing services such as design reviews, threat modelling exercises, and leads Application Security guild and forums to evangelize and drive development, delivery and adoption of standards, policies and best practices. Additionally, building relationships and trust with a diverse set of stakeholders (technology/business) and internal customers is also key. The Application Security Manager will work closely with the other Group cyber teams and services to ensure Group synergies are achieved. The role incorporates security architecture design and solutioning expertise and operational analysis support of critical solutions in a large-scale environment.
You’ll have:
- Proven experience in software engineering and people leadership
- Understanding of Application Security standards and frameworks such as OWASP, SAMM, NIST, CIS
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Application Security, Cloud /Infrastructure Security, Digital Security
- Business/client service skills orientation, conflict resolution, analysis/synthesis of information, negotiation, project management, etc.is of value
- Strong influence and negotiation skills needed to obtain commitments in remediating risks and vulnerabilities from leadership of other teams and business units
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication, listening and facilitation skills
- Excellent time management and related organizational skills, including appropriate sense of urgency, a proactive approach, an ability to anticipate and manage project lifecycle events, issues and roadblocks
