**About the Role**

The **Security Operations Manager** is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all security operations within the retail environment. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing operational policies and procedures to meet company standards, reduce risk, and ensure the safety and security of employees, customers, and assets. The Security Operations Manager will work closely with the team to ensure efficient delivery of services, uphold high standards of security, and address any operational challenges that arise. This role is critical in maintaining a secure environment across all retail locations.

**Key Responsibilities**

Oversee daily security operations at retail sites, ensuring services meet client expectations. Plan and implement security protocols for events and busy periods. Conduct regular audits and site assessments to ensure compliance with security measures. Step in as a relief Security Officer as required and monitor security personnel KPI performance, taking corrective actions when necessary. Address client security concerns and manage effective deployment of security resources.
- **People Management**: Develop contingency plans for staffing shortages and provide on-the-job training for security teams. Support site supervisors, promote continuous learning, and lead performance reviews. Assist in recruiting, onboarding new staff, and create personalised development plans to encourage career growth.
- **Stakeholder Relationships**: Maintain strong, professional relationships with client stakeholders, delivering accurate and timely security reports. Serve as the key liaison between client representatives and senior management to ensure clear communication and effective operations.
- **Business Development**: Identify new opportunities for security services, develop tailored security proposals, and manage projects to ensure the smooth implementation of solutions that meet client needs.
- **Work Health and Safety (WHS)**: Lead and prioritise health and safety initiatives, fostering a strong WHS culture. Manage incident reporting, ensure safety inductions, and provide ongoing training to staff to maintain a safe work environment.

**Skills, Experience, and Attributes**
- At least two years' proven experience working in Security Operations.
- Current Security (with Crowd Control, Unarmed, Monitoring), First Aid Certificate, and Open Drivers Licence (relevant state equivalent).
- Computer literate in Word/Excel and PowerPoint programs.
- Proven experience developing Operational Plans and other operational documentation.
- Highly organised and efficient.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of Security Officers to achieve specific objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language, well-presented in grooming, cleanliness, and appearance.
- ** Desirable**: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- ** Desirable**: Certificate IV in Security Risk Management.
- ** Desirable**: Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
- ** Desirable**: Category H Firearms Licence and Accreditation.
