Sydney, Australia Uber Full time

**#Greatmindsdontthinkalike**:At Uber, we take pride in our diversity and working environment that sees you as more than just a person that can do the job, but a unique individual that can level up our organization with a perspective only you can offer. Uber provides a truly open culture that encourages all to voice their thoughts.

**About The Team**

New Verticals is a startup within Uber, a team focussed on growth, but with the support and leverage of Uber’s large global ridesharing and delivery businesses. It is the delivery of everything that isn’t restaurant food - think groceries, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, beauty, and more... We are creating something brand new Many of the problems we face are new for Uber and require creative thinking to build solutions that cater to the consumers, merchants and delivery people.

**About The Role**

As part of our continued push into alcohol and pharmacy retail and delivery, we’re looking for an outstanding individual to join our Regulated Goods Operations team. Our team is responsible for launching, scaling and optimising our alcohol and pharmacy offerings across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, you’ll get hands-on experience launching new offerings and improving our existing ones, with plenty of opportunities to own and lead projects from start to finish. The role also includes opportunities to work across both our Uber Eats marketplace and Uber Direct, our white label, on-demand delivery offering.

**Your impact in role**
- Assess new opportunities for market expansion, build a launch plan and lead a team of cross functional team members to execute.
- Build recommendations to address existing challenges in our operations, collaborating closely with Merchant, Consumer and Delivery Person Operations teams.
- Collaborate with our Product teams in San Francisco by sharing local requirements, providing feedback on new feature development, and testing and launching new features locally.
- Consult with our Legal and Safety teams to understand the requirements for building compliant and safe operations in all markets.
- Support our Policy team on engagement with regulators and law makers by providing them with insights on our current operations and contributing to engagement strategies. In some cases, you may be asked to attend meetings with regulators to share your expertise on our operations and the effectiveness of current regulations.

**The Experience You’ll Bring**
- Determination and a self-starting mindset. Launching alcohol and pharmacy offerings will be complex and challenging; you are able to solve emerging problems, multitask and execute with speed and quality.
- Strong track record of engaging and influencing cross-functional teams with evidence of complex project management in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment.
- An analytical mindset and strong business acumen. You can think strategically and creatively to find solutions to our challenges, and demonstrate strong judgement in recommending trade-offs for our business.
- A proven track record. You’ll have experience in strategy, management or operations. Previous experience in retail, alcohol, pharmaceuticals and/or a highly regulated environment is a plus, but not required

Uber's culture and values are at the core of everything we do so that our employees can better understand who we are and what it’s like to work at Uber today.

We pride ourselves on the amazing team we’ve built. The driver behind all of our growth, our bold and disruptive brand, and the game-changing technology we bring to life is the people that make Uber,
**#OneUber.**

Doing your best work means being your best self. We offer a wide range of benefits and perks that are uniquely Uber to support your health and well-being. These benefits have been designed with #
**OneUber** in mind, supporting the whole of you and the way that you work best.
- We provide our employees with monthly **Uber credits** to use against the full value of Eats & Rides (whichever is applicable in your market) plus a 17% discount (excluding non-restaurant food deliveries) on orders through our App (which exists even when your credits expire).
- Family comes first, and our **paid parental leave** (minimum 18 weeks full pay with additional benefits or paid leave depending on your location) is accessible for all new parents from day 1 (with no tenure requirement). New parents at Uber will also receive access to Cleo, flexible return-to-work options, and additional Uber credits during their period of leave (because let's face it, who wants to cook with a little one around?)
- ** Starting a family** is a magical journey - At the same time, it can be challenging and stressful. Employees are eligible to reimburse costs relating to infertility treatment, egg/sperm freezing, adoption and surrogacy up to a lifetime benefit limit.
- Reset, Refresh and Recharge: we have a generous **paid leave policy**, providing paid leave in addition to t
