About the role

AGL has an exciting opportunity for a
Regulatory, Compliance and Strategy Specialist
to join our Energy Assets division, supporting environmental performance and strategic compliance across our national operations.

You'll be at the forefront of environmental strategy, helping shape AGL's future through expert advice, project leadership, and regulatory insight.

The position is preferably based in either our
Adelaide
or
Sydney
Corporate offices, but we are open to
Melbourne
Corporate office as well, with flexible work arrangements available. You'll be part of a collaborative team driving excellence in environmental management and compliance.

What you will be doing

As the Regulatory, Compliance and Strategy Specialist, you'll play a key role in enhancing AGL's environmental performance and regulatory alignment:

  • Track and communicate changes in environmental legislation and policy.
  • Support implementation of environmental management systems and compliance frameworks.
  • Provide expert input into strategic projects and initiatives, including FY26 planning.
  • Lead incident review and investigation processes.
  • Manage the development and delivery of environmental audit programs.
  • Coordinate internal and external regulatory reporting (e.g. ARMC, SSCR, NPI).
  • Oversee specialist consultants on environmental matters.
  • Develop and deliver environmental training and compliance procedures.
  • Build strong relationships across AGL and with external stakeholders.

What you will bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety, Environment or related discipline (desirable).
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the Energy and Resources space (highly advantageous)
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation & regulations across Australia.
  • Proven project management skills and experience working with consultants and contractors.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to undertake audits and manage compliance actions.
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for HSE and continuous improvement.
  • Resilience, business acumen, and stakeholder engagement capability.
