**Overview**:
The Housing Industry Association is Australia’s peak residential building industry body. HIA Economics is a leader in the collection, analysis and presentation of data, forecasts and policy research to members of the industry, business community, government and media.
Our team is a source of information on industry conditions, emerging trends, future scenarios and policy advice in all states and territories. HIA Economics produces papers and releases on the Australian housing industry outlook, strategic reviews and business plans, policy research impact statements, tailored market research, presentations and briefings.
We are seeking to appoint an Economist as a member of the HIA Economics team. The role assists in providing high-level research and analysis as a basis for the development of policy initiatives across a broad range of industry issues. Through the presentation of analysis and interpretation of data, this role supports the effective decision-making of key personnel throughout the association.
This role requires strong written communication skills and the ability to present on economic and related policy issues at industry events. Strong analytical and written communication skills are essential. Qualifications and experience in economics and data analysis are desirable. An ability to present detail information in public forums would be viewed favourably.
