Developers will:

- analyse, develop, enhance, integrate, review, test, maintain, and document custom components in support of business and technical requirements.
- use their in-depth knowledge to provide technical advice and guidance to less experienced developers.
- exercise a degree of independent judgement and make decisions within defined parameters that require reliance on skills and knowledge.
- plan their own work and contribute to teamwork goals in the context of competing priorities and changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies.

**The Roles**

**1.Senior Development Manager EL2**

**Duties Include**:

- Set direction by contributing to local business plans and ICT strategies
- oversee the delivery of ICT services, programs or project work
- ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies
- proactively understand business needs and offer solutions that align across business units
- oversee the development of operational and technical policy and procedures
- oversee operations of a team, including managing business performance, establishing priorities and managing resources and workflow
- develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning to increase performance, engagement and retention
- lead business and strategic workforce planning, and drive the development of local strategies to improve against key performance measures.
- oversee, review and advise on a range of written material, which may include technical and corporate documentation
- use performance against business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance reports to inform management, strategic direction, and future planning approaches
- negotiate, engage and manage relationships with other agencies and service providers to influence business outcomes, share information and build service delivery capability
- drive innovation, continuous improvement and manage and lead change

**2. Development Manager - EL1**

**Duties Include**

- ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies
- influence and contribute to technological strategy, resolving conflicts as needed
- assist senior managers in the development of operational policy and procedures
- lead and manage staff, including overseeing the management of performance, attendance and health and wellbeing
- lead and support operations of the team, including monitoring business performance, setting priorities and managing resources and workflow
- assist with business and strategic workforce planning, and drive the development of local strategies to improve against key performance measures
- monitor and manage work output and quality against established performance standards, which may include the interpretation of quality analysis and reporting
- prepare and review a range of written material, which may include technical and corporate documentation
- report on the achievement
