They have built bespoke software products which are used in venues all across Australia. They are a larger sized organisation with multiple large development teams, that focus on quality code, quality testing and following agile / modern development techniques and practices. Our client is looking for a permanent Development Team Lead to work cloesly with the Development manager, to recruit and build the Development team; assist with delivery of the product roadmap; solution re-architectiing / design and lead a high performing team of engineers whom maintain API facilitation and build innovation for the business. **Responsibilities**: - This is a senior position within the Product Development function which will require the Software Development Lead to work hand in hand with the Product Manager/Owner, Architects, Programme/Project Manager, Architects, Developers, QA team and IT Release team to evolve and expand the current Products/Systems to meet current and future customer needs. - Reporting to Chief Technology Officer/Development Manager, a hands-on coder, able to lead and a small team of developers and ensure software development delivery commitments are fully met - Working closely with the Product Manager/Owner, take ownership of the technical assets (source code, CI/CD pipelines, technical documentation) for a product/service domain within the overall product suite/platform and drive product technology enhancements and improvements - Recruit, on-board and retain high performing Software Engineers/Developers - Perform code reviews and employ effective use of code quality and security analysis and performance diagnostic tools across the team to ensure quality and security within delivered products - Ensure that all development starts with a good design and that the solution is well documented. - Deconstruct complex solutions into small problems and articulate that in design and source code. - Re-design/Re-factor existing source code (where applicable) to continuously improve efficiency, readability, performance, and simplicity of code - Ensure developers write clear, succinct, documented, maintainable, secure, testable and working code - Adopt agile continuous delivery practices and automation tools to enable small and frequent quality releases where possible - Participate in regular development chapter meetings with developers/engineers from other product teams to share ideas, experiences for continuous improvement (eg. people, process and tools) **Requirements for the role** - 2+ years of demonstrated capability in leading a Development team with strong interpersonal and team leadership skills - 5+ years of solid full-stack software development experience including technical solution design - Thorough understanding of OOD/OOP and SOLID software development principles- Extensive technical skills and hands-on experience in: - C# and.NET Core - Web front frameworks (Angular or React or Flutter) - Web API (ASP.NET Core and/or NodeJS etc.) - REST APIs - SQL Programming - Distributed systems and test first coding - Event-driven, loosely coupled architectures - Agile Product Development Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban) - Git and CI/CD Pipelines - Cloud Infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure) **Why should you apply?** - Company that understand that flexibilty and work-life balance is important - Cloud migration projects - Work hybrid from home and from a conveniently located and new office space - Work for a brand that has a strong and positive reputation - Role is both hands on and leadership focussed - you will not just be leading a team but have opportunity to remain on the tools - High performing and established team with good existing culture - Huge list of beneifts on offer - Work across multiple product teams - greenfield projects - state of the art technology across full stack, cloud, deployment, testing, agile (Scrum) - Monolith to microservices projects - New state environment - set the standard and set the direction for all new projects within the business - Work alongside the best operators across the business - Porduce products within a regulated industry - Creative opportunity to have your say and be heard, decide what tech to use and what needs to be done and why - Very succesful company that is large in size and continuously growing Opportunitities like this are very rare in the market, have the opportunity to join this organisation as a Development Lead, and have the ability to make a real influence on the future of this organisation, whilst leading a high perfoming team.
