About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be an integral member of the Salvation Army International Development (SAID) team that works in the pursuit of a better world for all, through the elimination of poverty, discrimination and injustice.

As the Child Rights Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for the development and implementation SAID’s child rights program with The Salvation Army Implementing Partners throughout the entire project cycle.

The role is part time (30.4 hours per week) and open to working in a flexible hybrid/WFH nature, based out of Redfern.

Key responsibilities include:

- Support the development, implementation and review of SAID’s Child Rights Programs
- In partnership with implementing partners, assist with the development of project proposals/plans.
- Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities throughout the project cycle ensuring all milestones, deliverables, deadlines and budget constraints are strictly adhered to
- Ensure Projects incorporate Child Rights best practice and effectively identify and manage risk.
- Work with partners to ensure high quality financial and narrative reporting in line with project schedule
- Provide high quality, well considered recommendations to Governance bodies, regarding SAID’s Child Rights program

About You
- An undergraduate degree in International Development or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years working in International Development in a programs role
- An understanding of the UNCRC and child rights programming, including de-institutionalisation and family-based care
- Demonstrated experience in building and strengthening the capacity of staff and partners
- Strong understanding of international and community development theories, approaches and sector standards
- Demonstrated high level written, verbal and cross-cultural communication skills, including well-developed report writing skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders, including ACFID, DFAT, and implementing partners
- Will need to commit to a minimum of 30 days travelling as part of role, whether overseas, intra-state or inter-state and be willing to work outside of regular hours
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Proficiency in the use of Project Management software
