**The Role**
We are seeking a Plant / Production Manager to join the ELGAS team based at
**Blacktown NSW**.

Reporting to the Southern NSW Depot Operations Manager, you will
**lead and manage the Blacktown Major Hazard Facility** ensuring:

- safe operations
- compliance to relevant regulations and industry / company standards & procedures
- optimal supply of products within budget
- the ongoing implementation of Major Hazard Facility and Safety Management System requirements.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Monitor site performance against standards as set out in the Major Hazard Facility Safety Case and other Elgas Safety requirements.
- Develop, maintain and implement production plans to get maximum value from production resources ensuring efficient use of plant, personnel, materials and consumables.
- Efficiently manage the budget for personnel, plant, materials and consumables to meet production targets along with minimizing operational delays and costs.
- Manage, monitor and improve operational KPI’s ensuring they are meeting and/or exceeding the safety and productivity targets.
- Effectively plan / manage preventative and break-down maintenance minimizing plant down-time or interruption of product supply.
- Lead a large team of production personnel along with developing Team Leaders.
- Improve engagement and culture through leadership, training and being a good mentor for the production team.
- Implement and monitor strategies to reduce staff turnover and ensure labour cost base is productive, efficient and cost competitive.
- Critically evaluate the plant processes to identify and implement safety or productivity improvements.
- Provide input for budget preparations and production improvements.

**Key attributes required**:

- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing/production with a strong emphasis on safety and risk management.
- Managing well developed team environments.
- Computer literacy (Use of production and maintenance systems).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisation and production management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing conflicts and performance.
- Experience in cost management or production management.
- Experience managing seasonal product demand using labour hire workforce.
- Broad understanding of LPG processes would be an advantage.
