The role of the On Site Handyperson is pivotal in providing the ACT Police with a professional, responsive and effective level of service specifically related to various facilities functions within their ACT Headquarters building in Canberra.
The role is responsible for the everyday maintenance of the building/s and environment ensuring all operations and maintenance undertaken in the premises conforms with the workplace health and safety legislative requirements and any other relevant legislative requirements applicable to those tasks.
**An Overview of the role**:
Reporting to a Senior Facilities Manager, the role is responsible for general repairs and maintenance of all aspects of the AFP property portfolio including:
Ensuring all maintenance undertaken conforms to the WHS legislative requirements.
General and preventative maintenance of office buildings and other operational facilities.
Removing and installing whiteboards, plaques, signage and screens.
Mailroom and Courier management
Change of carpet tiles and patching and painting as required.
Overseeing all plant and equipment maintenance, ensuring inspections, maintenance and service records are updated.
Building strong relationships with the client, contractors, trades people and suppliers.
Act as the information conduit between the client, service contractors and building management.
Conduct routine site inspections and;
Support the Facilities Management team in administrative functions, minor works projects and reporting when required
