**The Role**
Reporting to the Director of Data, Quality and Performance the Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring data is used effectively to inform the ongoing management, evaluation, and evolution of the scheme. The Assistant Director will be expected to identify and surface relevant data and analyse or transform it into products that provide meaningful information to users and help the Division make informed decisions about the scheme. This will include managing projects, leading and mentoring small teams, and working closely with stakeholders (including program and policy development areas, the senior executive, the Minister’s Office, and external organisations) to deliver timely and accurate information and uphold high standards in data management practice.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the Assistant director may include:

- Establishing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing the PALM scheme data management governance framework, strategy, policies, quality assurance practices, and systems to ensure effective delivery of data stream services,
- Leading the liaison and collaboration across the Division and with other relevant stakeholders to deliver effective outcomes for the organisation,
- Using specialist technical and/or statistical skills to conduct complex analysis of PALM Scheme program data using a variety of data sources (Excel, PowerBI, SQL etc.), develop performance measures and conduct data definition and derivation activities,
- Analysing, creating and integrating new datasets using a variety of data sources, methods, and models to support better monitoring and decision making by stakeholders in the Division,
- Preparing and reviewing written material, including official performance briefs, technical specifications and process documents, analytical reports, and governance papers
- Establishing and maintaining data dictionaries, survey methodology and process documentation.
