This role is pivotal to the success of the workers compensation specialist insurers technical leadership and key for several upcoming projects scheduled for delivery in the coming year.

This role would suit someone who wants to use their experience and lead an experienced team of specialists through a number of key and business-critical projects. The team includes specialists within legal, PIAWE, Work Cap, and Technical backgrounds which form an integral part of the claims operations team. You will empower and support team members with technical queries and foster a culture of continued learning and collaboration.

**Permanent full-time role with office based in Sydney CBD with opportunity for work from home flexibility within this Specialist Insurer.**

**About the Role**:

- Participate and contribute to strategy and business planning, Specialised Insurer requirements, and continuous improvement programs.
- Proactively lead a team of technical specialists to contribute to the achievement of business and organisational goals through optimal delivery and management of claims services.
- Lead the identification and implementation of strategies and actions to ensure the business meets the legislative and license requirements as well as maximise the performance of the claim’s portfolio.
- Contribute to overall claims strategies to minimise the cost of claims by achieving best practice claims management.
- Manage external providers to deliver cost-effective, outcome-based service deliverables.
- Recruit, develop, and manage team members to build capability across the business unit.

**About You**:

- Experienced people leader with a strong technical background looking to support the ongoing development of the team, processes, and continuous improvement.
- You will have experience in supporting a team’s ongoing technical knowledge and exposure to working closely with senior leaders to support from a technical capability perspective.
- Extensive NSW workers compensation legislation knowledge and an interest in other states.
- Great communication skills with the confidence to present to executives.
