We are seeking an experienced and passionate Community Engagement Manager professional to join the small yet
**high-performing team** at Canberra Hospital Foundation (CHF). The foundation is an independent registered charity that exists to
**raise funds for health and support services** delivered in all public hospitals and health centres across Canberra.

**About the Role - Community Engagement Manager**

Reporting to a supportive and driven CEO, the Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for
**leading and inspiring** CHF’s Communications and Events team of three people, while fostering a positive and collaborative culture.

In this
**hands-on role,** you will grow fundraising income through your assigned channels and increase the visibility of CHF’s work by
**building and strengthening relationships with community partners**, PR and media, government, suppliers, and volunteers.

With the support of the Events Coordinator, you will manage CHF generated events, including their
**flagship annual event, Can Give Day.**

The role will work closely with the Director of Philanthropy (who leads major gifts fundraising, campaigns, and direct mail) to implement a targeted corporate and community engagement strategy and to identify and
**secure a pipeline of funding opportunities** aligned with their strategic plan.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Grow, implement, successfully deliver, and increase the profitability of community and business partnerships and core fundraising events for the Canberra Hospital Foundation
- Lead a team of three people (Design & Communications Executive, Digital Content Specialist and Events Coordinator)
- Build strong new business relationships with corporates and community fundraisers, hospital staff and individuals to encourage fundraising activities in support of CHF
- Manage CHF generated events, including CHF flagship annual event Can Give Day (manage relationships with suppliers and external contractors)
- Ensure best practice donor and supporter communications, providing outstanding stewardship and growing their reach into the community
- Manage the community engagement budget, and strategic and fundraising plans. Forecast income, monitor, and maintain budget expenditure
- Represent CHF at community events, to present and share the work of the foundation and its impact
- possess leadership skills and experience
- have experience in a similar role (fundraising, PR /marketing, or event management) ideally within health, charity or social impact
- have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to manage a diverse portfolio of relationships
- demonstrate the ability to manage simultaneous projects and events
- have a professional presentation and communication style to network, engage, and champion their mission.
- understand compliance, governance, and risk management
- be willing to work flexible hours which may require working outside of normal business hours occasionally (time in lieu offered)
- have a strong alignment with the Canberra Hospital Foundation's values (Honesty, Respect, Integrity, Empathy, and Transparency)
