Are you passionate about maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces and ensuring high standards of landscape upkeep? BGIS is seeking a dedicated and reliable Groundsman to join our team based in Canberra.

**The Role**:As a Groundsman, you will play a key role in maintaining the grounds of an important government site. You will be responsible for ensuring that the outdoor areas are well-kept, safe, and aesthetically pleasing, while also meeting all safety and compliance standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform general maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and weeding.
- Maintain lawns, garden beds, trees, and other landscape elements.
- Assist with pest and weed control, irrigation management, and mulching.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and site standards.
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment.
- Report any hazards or issues to the Facilities Manager.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or similar roles.
- Knowledge of horticulture and landscape management is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with team members and site stakeholders.
- Ability to operate gardening tools and machinery safely and efficiently.

**Requirements**:

- Australian Citizenship (due to security clearance requirements).
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
- Valid driver's license.
