AGL’s Health, Safety & Environment team have a newly created opportunity for an Occupational Health Program Manager to proactively and strategically manage the Fitness for Work Program, focusing on Occupational Health and Hygiene (OH&H) risks across the entire enterprise.
This critical role has the flexibility to be based in either Melbourne or Sydney, with frequent visits to AGL’s operational assets across regions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and delivering the strategic Fitness for Work program, ensuring compliance requirements are met.
- Working collaboratively across the broader HSE Team and local operations teams.
- Providing clear and decisive direction and actions to manage emerging and known Fitness for Work risks and compliance requirements.
- Standardising and providing assurance oversight for AGL’s organisational occupational hygiene monitoring program.
- As a Subject Matter Expert, you will be liaising and advising operations and management on Investigations, Pre-Employment Medicals, Drinking Water Quality, Drug & Alcohol Testing, Hazardous Substances and Dangerous Goods Compliance.
- Working with internal stakeholders and external regulators to ensure compliance is met.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficacy of occupational health and hygiene across the business.
What you’ll bring:
- Significant and demonstrated experience in a professional OH&H capacity in large, complex and high-risk industries (Energy, Heavy Industrial, Manufacturing, Construction, Transport)
- Practical experience in developing, implementing and delivering OH&H monitoring programs.
- Experience providing advice and support on a wide range of hygiene matters (asbestos, noise, dust, chemicals, metals, heat and emerging hazards).
- Demonstrated experience of OH&H Legislation relating to energy industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and teams within an organisation.
- Ability to confidently and competently deliver to teams and colleagues on our operational sites.
- Valid Australian Drivers Licence (required).
- Ability to travel intrastate and interstate when required.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health, Hygiene or related Health discipline.
- Associate or Full Member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (preferred).
