**About the Role**
- This specialist role provides technical leadership and guidance to the team on declaration matters under the Road Management Act (RMA), Major Transport Project Facilitation Act (MTPFA), and DTP Transport Survey Plans. It is responsible for updating DTP documents relating to road declarations, as well as survey and declaration quality documents, ensuring they align with legislative and organisational requirements. The role involves sharing knowledge to ensure timely, accurate advice to clients and stakeholders, supporting delivery functions through the review, processing, and approval of survey and declaration documents within the delegations of Proper Officer under the Survey Coordination Act. Working closely with the leadership team, this position supports the broader Surveying Services team to meet DTP standards, adhere to safe work practices, and deliver on program objectives

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**

**Key Selection Criteria**
- This role leads the design and development of public policy, creating clear, evidence-based recommendations and business cases that address defined problems and align with strategic plans, community needs, and complementary programs. It applies systems thinking to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities, coaches others in developing solutions, and drives organisational change by fostering a culture of adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As a recognised expert in cadastral surveying and road declaration, the role delivers authoritative legislative and technical advice, leads complex projects, and provides high-level strategic guidance to government and external stakeholders.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Demonstratable specialist knowledge of road declaration (and related) functions under the RMA and MTPFA (mandatory)
- University degree in surveying or geomatics or an equivalent qualification as approved by the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria. (mandatory)
- Registration as a Practising Licensed Surveyor in Victoria with the Surveyors Registration Board for Victoria with experience after registration. (mandatory)
- 10+ years’ experience in the surveying profession. (mandatory)
- Experience in the government transport infrastructure sector. (desirable)
