Principal Officer, Digital Strategy

**Your new role**
City Communication’s Digital Team is made up of SMEs in social media, multi-media, content production, product ownership, development, UX, SEM, SEO, digital advertising, and strategy who work collaboratively to deliver the best output for the business and our residents.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated marketing manager to join the team as the Principal Officer, Digital Strategy and Innovation.

As the Principal Officer, Digital Strategy and Innovation you will be responsible for leading and managing the strategic development, implementation and evaluation of key digital marketing campaigns and digital projects. Leading your own team of specialists and developers, you will deliver and oversee Council’s corporate website, the Brisbane app, search engine marketing, digital metrics and insights, and associated governance.

This will also require ensuring that the Brisbane City Council’s digital campaigns and projects align with Council’s Corporate objectives.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint (follow link below for more info) to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture
- substantial experience and comprehensive knowledge of current digital communication and marketing strategies, issues and trends with high level understanding of relevant digital marketing technology, metrics, insights, data analysis and reporting to develop and oversee implementation of solutions
- high level understanding of leading website builds, procurement of new providers, website project management, SEO / SEM and digital marketing strategies
- demonstrated superior experience in developing and delivering best practice digital, website and social media solutions and leading the development of strategy and planning around scalability of relevant platforms within large complex organisations
- strong strategic and operational delivery skills focussed on managing, meeting or exceeding key stakeholder expectations including both internal and external customers by optimising business and end user outcomes
- superior interpersonal skills particularly in communication, collaboration, negotiation, conflict resolution and the presentation of professional and technical matters to a range of audiences
- proven ability in developing and implementing continuous improvement processes and systems to improve quality and cost effectiveness of business operations and assist in managing business risk.

Contributing to a positive team culture and the ability to empower to continue digital skillset evolution is fundamental to this position.

Advantageous if you have:

- tertiary qualifications in digital communication, business or significant experience in a relevant field
- a sound knowledge of relevant workplace health and safety and equal employment opportunity principles and guidelines
- project management skills and digital agency experience.
