**About the opportunity
Engineering teams at Littlepay have end-to-end ownership of the work they deliver. We’re now looking for a Tech Lead to help build and provide technical leadership to a team of engineers, and develop and deliver a technical roadmap in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders.

You'll be working with colleagues who:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Tech Lead will:

- Design, implement and maintain dependable platforms, production-quality APIs, workflows, and tools
- Provide technical leadership for a team of engineers
- Mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate closely with Service Operations, Platform and Engineering Management to plan your initiatives
- Build performant, sustainable, and maintainable technologies and code Invest 50% of your time coding user stories, and 50% leading solutions and coaching others

About our platform tech:

- Java/Spring/NodeJS microservices
- Go as the future for new microservices Open source and AWS technologies (ECS/RDS/DynamoDB/S3/SQS/APIGateway/Lambda/SAM/CF/ PostgreSQL )

**About you
Ideally, you’ll have:

- 3+ years of technical leadership experience
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience in Java software development
- Solid Java/Spring skills with recent commercial experience in Go across the stack
- An interest or experience in cryptographic algorithms and transaction security
- Experience with developing software in a cloud-hosted environment (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- The willingness to learn, fail, and try again - people who are naturally curious, proactive, and self-motivated do very well at Littlepay
- A positive attitude and a collaborative nature, with the willingness to participate in all areas of engineering
- The ability to comprehend, coordinate, and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues Good knowledge of CI/CD practices

Nice to haves:

- Previous experience shipping and supporting products at a global scale
- Experience with data governance
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering Experience with giving technical presentations to internal and external audiences
