**About us**

The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

**About the role**

Part of the Consumer Affairs and Local Government group, Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV) is a front-line, client-facing dispute resolution service.

An exciting opportunity exists for registered Building Practitioners and Architects to utilise their industry experience and knowledge to support a specialised Building Assessment team within DBDRV. The work location for this position is Melbourne CBD with hybrid work arrangements.

**Other requirements**
- Hold a current Victorian Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrated domestic building experience including the interpretation of plans, specifications and other documentation which constitutes a domestic building contract for the purposes of assessing whether building work carried out is in accordance with the contract documentation and legislation and standards governing domestic building work

Potential applicants should be aware that in early to mid-2025 (official date to be confirmed), it is proposed that DBDRV will transfer to a new integrated regulator, the Building and Plumbing Commission, which will be your new employer from the date of transfer. For more information, click here.
