This role is required on campus during term time.

About the Role & Key Responsibilities

**Summary **The Head of Hebrew ELC-6 carries specific responsibility for the development,
implementation and evaluation of Hebrew curriculum and pedagogy within the Junior

organised and proactive, and have excellent communication skills.

**Role**
**Accountabilities**:

- Demonstrating excellence as a Hebrew teacher;
- Teaching classes as allocated by the Head of Junior School;
- Supporting an effective and collaborative Hebrew teaching team across

ELC-6;
- Coordinating, in conjunction with the Head of Junior School and the Head of

Learning and Teaching, the professional development of Hebrew teaching

staff;
- Keeping up to date with educational developments, particularly in relation to

curriculum, pedagogy and resource development and implementing programs

accordingly;
- Working with members of the teaching team to develop effective classroom

practice;
- Formulating and revising documentation required by NESA and ensuring all

requirements are adhered to by the school;
- Collaborating with ELC and Senior School staff to develop continuity of

programs and smooth transition for students;
- Preparing and managing budget submissions and expenditure for the Hebrew

Department;
- Reviewing and advising on school reporting and Hebrew assessments;
- Performing administrative and organisational aspects of the role in interactions

with students, parents and colleagues, fostering the College’s mission of

striving to achieve educational excellence in a caring environment;
- Ensuring Hebrew teaching staff program according to the established Scope

and Sequences;
- Evaluating teacher programming and providing ongoing pedagogic guidance

and leadership;
- Enhance and develop curricula that meets the developing needs of the

Hebrew Department;
- Develop ongoing assessments that guide the pedagogical decisions of the

Hebrew program;
- Assist the Head of Junior school in the evaluation of the efficacy of the

Hebrew Teaching faculty;
- Develop innovative programmes that align with the NSW syllabus and learning

progressions for students;
- Encourage participation in Jewish and wider community events, as

appropriate;
- Plan and implement teaching strategies that encourage an inquiring,

experiential and co-operative learning approach;
- Assess student performance, provide timely feedback to students and parents

and make adjustments to teaching strategies as necessary;
- Use Information Technology within the workplace;
- Support Masada’s ethos and values and work cooperatively with other staff (K

to 12) and members of the School Community;
- Support school wide initiatives and policies;
- Attend staff meetings and professional learning sessions;
- Foster educational excellence through positive interactions with students,

parents and the wider community and
- Ability to team teach in a fluid learning space.
