**About the Role**:
The Community Engagement Officer plays a key role in promoting headspace Adelaide within the community and supporting young people aged 12-25 to access early intervention mental health care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Officer plans and delivers community engagement activities, develops mental health literacy resources, and leads initiatives that reduce stigma surrounding mental illness.

In this role, you will provide education sessions and service information to schools, community organisations, and partner agencies, helping build awareness of youth mental health and available supports. You will also coordinate and support volunteer groups and committees, including the Youth Reference Group, Youth Ambassadors, and Family and Friends Focus Groups.

The Officer will facilitate centre-based social engagement groups, often working alongside volunteers and other staff. A key component of the role includes strengthening partnerships and service linkages to ensure young people receive accessible, responsive, and recovery-focused pathways to care.

**Experience Requirements**:

- Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the planning and delivery of community engagement and youth participation strategies and programs.
- Experience with working with young people living with or who have experienced a mental health issue.
- Experience and expertise with social media as a communication tool

**Qualification and Other Requirements**:

- Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
- Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in either Youth Work, Community Development, Social Planning, Social/Behavioural Science, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Health Sciences (Health Promotion) or other relevant field; or demonstrated substantial and extensive experience in the youth sector.
