**WHO IS COAL LSL?**

Coal LSL is a Corporate Commonwealth Entity (CCE) established to regulate and manage long service leave entitlements on behalf of eligible employees of the black coal mining industry. We have serviced the industry as a government entity for more than 25 years.

**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**

As the Portfolio Manager, you will be an integral member of a small Investment team responsible for delivering on the investment objectives to ensure that Coal LSL remains in a strong funding position.

You will have an overview of the total portfolio yet be responsible for a specific segment and the partnerships with Coal LSL’s external asset consultant, custodian, investment managers and actuary to implement investment decisions and maintain fit-for-purpose processes and procedures with a strong emphasis on risk management.

This role has a broad range of responsibilities spanning investment strategy, risk management, operations, liquidity management, performance monitoring, report writing, document management, procedural documentation, and relationship management.

You will:

- Work closely with other teams within the organisation to monitor liquidity, valuations, data management and contracts.
- Research and recommend new asset classes and strategies that can increase the return, reduce risk, or reduce cost.
- Evolve the risk management framework at all levels of the portfolio.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and risk characteristics of the total portfolio, asset classes and managers.
- Prepare reports for the Board and Investment Committee.

Your background will demonstrate:

- Experience with wholesale investment management.
- Highly developed analytical skills, conceptual problem solving and the ability to provide concise advice and recommendations.
- Effective negotiating skills with diverse stakeholders including service providers, advisers, executives, the Board and customers.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Extensive experience managing outsourced provider relationships.

You will be tertiary qualified in commerce/economics/finance or similar.
