**About the Role**

**The Patient Liaison Officer is a crucial component to the private service JHC offers**. As such the PLO will have a presence in both the **Emergency Department, throughout the hospital wards, and in the office preparing financial estimates.**
- **Specific training in health insurance tables and Meditech insurance registration will be provided to the successful applicants.**:

- Applicants with medical practice, hospital billing, health fund or Medicare background will be highly regarded.
- Acting in a professional manner and maintaining confidentiality at all times, you will report to the Patient Liaison Officer Supervisor and work in a respected and supportive team that positively promotes the company.
- As a **shift worker** the successful applicant must be available to work various shift patterns and will be rostered as required **Monday to Sunday between 6am and 12 midnight, including public holidays.**

**Responsibilities to include (but not limited to)**:

- **Completing health fund checks for private patients**:

- Preparing Informed Financial Consent forms and estimates
- Communicating with patients and health funds/insurance companies regarding private health cover
- Pre-admitting patients into Meditech
- Collection of patient payments
- Organize referrals for Home Care Service, requesting exgratia payments.

**Essential**

- Ability to work as part of a team, with or without supervision.

**Desirable**
- **Background experience such as: hospital and medical administration roles; customer service roles**:

- Knowledge of health insurance benefit tables and medical billing item numbers
- Experience using Meditech or other patient administration software.

**Remuneration**:
**On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $37.11 + casual loading + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.**
