We are currently searching for a Junior Womenswear Designer to join the team based in our beautiful head office based in Alexandria. This role is permanent and full time.

You are experienced and competent in apparel design & a creative and technical expert across women’s categories. You have experience working across multiple seasons simultaneously, with a qualification in Fashion Design or a technical qualification in garment construction & fitting skills. You possess knowledge of fabric, colour and digital artwork, with experience in Illustrator and Excel. You are enthusiastic and welcome feedback. **Responsibilities**:
- Research creative ideas independently and provide input on the womenswear design elements for each season under the Creative Directors and Design Managers guidance.
- Seek out, consult and collaborate with various team members across the business to gain insight across consumer and sales patterns to drive commercial success.
- Responsible for sourcing and developing new fabrics and trims in line with design direction, working closely with the Fabric and Colour Coordinator.
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of yardage print, graphic and yarn dye artwork and liaising with all suppliers for development.
- Support the Design Team in creating and updating detailed CADs to represent the seasonal collections.
- Technical design knowledge and experience, collaborating with Garment Technicians and Product Developers to execute the intended creative concept.
- Assist with incoming SMS co-ordination and documentation when required.
- Attend womenswear fittings sessions, confident to recognise product fit and development issues and relay these to senior design team
- Provide support to the Senior Designers and Design Manager to ensure seasonal deadlines are achieved, liaising closely with Design Assistants and the Colour and Fabric Coordinator.
- Support the Designers with seasonal design handover tech packs to the Development Team.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and communicating intended final design look and feel to Product Development team
- Responsible for tracking all fabric development and ensuring developments are finalised in line with the critical path deadlines.
- Provide clear and concise communication between Assembly Label and various offshore vendors.
- Thorough understanding of the product in work, able to provide accurate updates internally to key stakeholders when necessary.
- Assist the Design Assistants with original sample co-ordination from local or overseas sourcing.
- Assist with Design Room organisation and process improvement to impact positive growth in the design team's output. Maintain digital and physical samples, files and asset archives
