Assistant in Nursing, Central Sterilising Unit

The Central Sterilising Unit is situated within the Operating Room Suite and comprises a decontamination room which has 2 pass-thru washer-disinfection machines; height adjustable sinks and benches and a pass-thru endoscopy processor; a pack and wrap room and a sterilising room which has 2 steam sterilisers and a STERRAD machine.
The provision of service will be under the day-to-day supervision of the allocated perioperative Team Leader and reports to the Nurse Unit Manager Operating Room Suite.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being understand to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 1, Band 2 and the Queensland Public Service values.
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Engage in CSU specific documentation and audit requirements.
