We are looking for passionate and committed Theatre Attendants who are eager to make a difference.

**Role and experience**

The role will see you transporting Patients to and from the Operating Theatre Suite.

You will be working with a dedicated group of like minded individuals, who pride themselves on Patient Care.

**The Sucessful canidiate will posses the following**:

- 12 months experience working as a Theatre Attendant or PSA
- Provision of 2 relevant clinical referees
- Must have a current Working With Children Check
- Will need to provide a current police check or willing to obtain one

Theatre Technicians are an integral part of the operating theatre team. The theatre technician provides support to the Medical and Nursing staff to ensure positive patient outcomes are achieved.

Whilst ensuring patient safety, the theatre technician to assist and support the team by ensuring all necessary equipment is available and operational, and patients are safely prepared and positioned for surgery.

The Theatre technician provides efficient, high quality care in a patient focused environment through effective and committed teamwork.

The theatre technician role varies depending on level of competency and skill set (as per Grade); but is responsible for:

- Patient transport to, from and within the theatre complex
- Positioning and preparation of patients for surgery
- Setting up each operating theatre with the speciality/ surgery specific equipment
- Ensuring all equipment is functioning and correctly maintained
- Cleaning and maintenance of equipment in accordance with Monash Health and manufacturers guidelines

The Theatre Technician, working within scope of practice, will assist in the perioperative environment by
- Providing safe patient care inclusive of patient transport, patient positioning, patient transfer, patient securing and other patient related duties under the direction of the team
- Competently use theatre equipment; ensuring key safety processes
- Understand the risks associated with the theatre equipment and theatre environment and deploy safety measures to mitigate and identify risks
- Understand and utilise Infection Control measures in accordance with Monash Health Policy

The theatre technician is responsible for the reduction of waste in line with their role and scope of practice aligning to the values of the organisation.

**Qualifications/registrations/licences**

Cert III in Health Service Assistance (Operating Technical Support) or equivalent (Grades 1-2)

Cert IV Health Service Assistance (Operating technical Support) or equivalent (Grade3 -5)
