Raw Materials Development Assistant | Innovation | Pyrmont

Our Design Innovation team has an exciting and newly created opportunity available for a RM Development Assistant to works closely with our Senior R&D Innovator
In this role you will be responsible for providing support to a product category(s), ensuring successful development of innovative and functional materials seasonally, for our amazing Bonds and other Hanes products
We are looking for someone who is excited about the prospect of a career in Product Development and Textiles, who is motivated, results oriented and committed to providing outstanding results every day

What is the role?
- Provide technical experience to the R&D team, assisting in the developments of new and innovative materials for the brands
- Support the execution of department objectives and initiatives
- Organize and maintain fabric inventory for Sydney Lab
- Support in ensuring all QA testing lab requirements are met to facilitate the timely testing of raw materials
- Ensuring our Product Line Management (PLM) database is consistently updated and accurate
- Collaborate and support satellite offices to identify strategic initiatives and process improvement opportunities

What experience we are looking for?
- 1 + years of related experience in the apparel têxtile industry e.g. apparel sourcing and raw material development (this can also include substantial internship experience)
- Understanding of product design and development process, from inception through to production
- Able to make effective decisions through experience and understanding when to defer to Senior R&D Innovator as a situation warrants
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - You enjoy collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders and you are renowned for your fantastic customer service skills
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- You are a team player with an incredible work ethic - no task is too big or too small
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced evolving, retail environment
- Proficient PC skills and MS Office programs. Working knowledge of database systems (e.g. PLM and Adobe Illustrator) is a plus
