**Your role**
The Procurement team provides assistance to business units within the Department of Communities and Justice (DC)J for all matters in relation to the procurement of goods and services. The primary focus of the team is to support and deliver cost effective procurement activities to achieve government objectives.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and customer focussed individual to join the Procurement - Supplier Excellence team.
This role represents a great opportunity to work on initiatives within a large, diverse organisation, as well as participate in cluster and NSW Government-side projects.
**What you’ll do**
As part of the Procurement team, you will support the sourcing and contracts teams, as well as management, to deliver efficient and effective procurement services to the Department, and the Cluster.
The Procurement Officer provides a broad range of administrative and reporting services to support and facilitate the Procurement team. Procurement Officer key accountabilities include:
- Monitor and maintain Procurement budget to ensure ongoing accuracy
- Review the Procurement budget and prepare reports for the Procurement management team
- Prepare reports and other documentation as required on Procurement key performance indicators
- Assist with the delivery of projects and initiatives, as required
**What we’re looking for**
- You are fully conversant with Microsoft such as Excel and PowerPoint
- You are self-motivated and committed to deliver quality outcomes
- You are comfortable working in a complex environment with multiple tasks, priorities and constant deadlines
- You have strong analytical and creative problem solving abilities
- You will be a strong communicator able to foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- You have relevant work experience in Procurement or a related area to Procurement such as project management, HR, finance, legal/risk, Policy etc.
These roles may require travel across the Sydney Metropolitan area.
