About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Community Engagement Worker to work closely with Mission Leader to prepare, organise, and facilitate the smooth operation of Hope Market. This role requires providing Hope Market assistance to clients in accordance with policies and procedures in line with TSA values and mission.
You will successfully
- Cultivates and encourages community culture wherein all persons who attend the Hope Market are helped and supported, with the intention of developing community and equipped in connecting individuals to each other and our mission
- Organise and manage aid from receipt, packaging, and distribution to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- In conjunction with Mission Leader implement and maintain systems and processes to ensure positive Volunteer involvement and engagement
- In conjunction with Mission Leader, oversee Volunteers to ensure efficient and effective Hope Market preparation and smooth running on the day
- Provide equitable and efficient aid to clients and community members in line with TSA procedures and relevant government legislation or funding requirements
- Timely and accurate referral advice is provided in a positive and client-focused manner
- Ensure appropriate client documentation, records/data collection, reporting and budget information is maintained and provided as required
This is a maximum fixed term permanent part time position, 12 months, based at Hawkesbury City Corps in Windsor, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.
You will have
- Certificate IV in Community Services or similar qualification (or working towards)
- Minimum 12 months experience in welfare/community services environment would be highly regarded
- Experience in working with clients form culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions
- Effective listening, written and verbal communication skills
- A sound knowledge of the principles and practices within community welfare services
- Demonstrated ability to empathise with clients and understand the issues faced by people requiring emergency relief such as homelessness, substance abuse, mental health and disabilities
- A commitment to the Christian faith and an ability to offer pastoral assistance would be highly regarded, but not essential
