**The role**

This exciting 6-month role will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the end-to-end Payroll service, whilst aligning to the People and Safety strategic direction and building high levels of trust, whilst delivering exceptional employee experience.

From an operational perspective this role is accountable for ensuring all employees are paid appropriately, accurately, on time and in accordance with South East Water’s Enterprise Agreement, Senior Officer and GSERP contracts and in alignment with relevant awards and legislation. The Payroll Lead will be expected to work closely with the People Systems and People Partnerships Teams to ensure our internal customers receive a high standard of service and support. The role will be a key contributor to any People and Safety team strategic initiatives across the employee lifecycle.

**Who are you?**

The following knowledge, skills and experience will ensure you make a difference in a short period of time:

- Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge of the CHRIS21 payroll system and HRIS's (Success Factors) Employee Central module
- An ability to keep abreast of legislative changes and best practice processes, as well as knowledge of Industrial Awards, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, Employment Law and the Fair Work Act
- A demonstrated ability to deal professionally with confidential issues and data
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal, as well as strong customer service skills focussing on building relationships, engaging with stakeholders and improving the employee experience.
- An ability to manage complex tasks and problems
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
