Clough, as part of a joint venture, is delivering Perdaman Industries’ urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australian and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes. The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities.

We are currently searching for an experienced Subcontracts Manager to join the Perdaman project team. Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual matters relating to subcontracts on the project.

Your focus will include:
- Developing and maintaining the project subcontracting strategy- Tendering and formation of all subcontracts- Reviewing project budget and ensure adequate allocation to subcontracts to reflect subcontracting strategy on project.- Effective administration of all subcontracts to optimise earnings on project.- Preparation of claims and variations for the adjustment of compensation and time under the various subcontracts.- Management and resolution of all claims with subcontractors / suppliers in accordance with Contract Formation and Administration Operating Standards.- Providing input to the cost control team and forecasting of final cost at completion position for all subcontracts.- Providing commercial and contractual advice and support to project team members on all subcontracts matters.- Participating in project risk and opportunity reviews on a minimum monthly frequency.

What you will bring to the team:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quantity surveying, Law, Construction Management and Economics (CM&E).- 7+ years’ experience in the engineering and construction industry.- 7+ years of direct experience as a Commercial or Contracts Manager on large value engineering and construction projects.- Extensive experience in managing subcontracts within lump sum projects or projects which require extensive management of performance and delivery risk.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
