**About the opportunity**

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to facilitate stakeholder participation in Energy Safe's decision-making in alignment with our Charter of Consultation and Regulatory Practice..

**You will contribute by**:

- Develop, implement and evaluate the annual Engagement Culture and Capability and Engagement Delivery and Support plans.
- Facilitate stakeholder participation in Energy Safe's decision-making in alignment with our Charter of Consultation and Regulatory Practice.
- Work with the Strategic Communications team to develop engagement and communications plans for complex consultations and energy safety issues and optimise Energy Safe's communications channels and collateral around stakeholder engagement activities.
- Develop contemporary engagement procedures, guidelines, processes, and tools for staff to support improvement in stakeholder engagement practices. This will include preparing a capability development package in collaboration with the People Experience and Human Resources team.
- Identify stakeholder issues raised through engagement and other channels and analyse these issues to provide advice and/or propose recommendations based on that analysis.
- Contribute to the implementation of a new stakeholder engagement Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting, and Improvement (MERI) framework.
- Research and develop verbal and digital presentations and write papers and reports for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Victorian Energy Safety Commission.
- Provide regular, consistent, and effective communication and reporting on performance including key performance indicators, projects, and initiatives.

**To be successful, you'll have**:

- A tertiary qualification, preferably in a field related to engagement, and/or strategic stakeholder engagement experience at a senior level.
- IAP2 credentials are highly regarded.
- High level contemporary stakeholder engagement skills, with a demonstrated ability to deliver and achieve high quality outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management capability, encompassing the ability to manage complex relationships and conduct negotiations that foster and develop key stakeholder partnerships.
- Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing on a range of complex issues, ensuring that communications are clear, concise, targeted, and accurate.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity in dealings with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- High level of adaptability, flexibility and autonomy, including the ability to prioritise and deliver against milestones in short time periods.
- For this role, we need someone agile and innovative who is equally comfortable being strategic and getting stuck in. You will need to be adaptable and able to pivot towards opportunities and change focus when the situation demands it.
- Sound knowledge and experience working in government would be desirable.
