**Company Overview**:
A specialist retailer with a vast high-performing store network in Australia, this brand holds its head up high based on its customer offer. Continuing its growth and expansion and currently sitting at around 500 stores, they are evolving their service offering to exceed current and future customer expectations. The Area Manager - Retail Development position now being recruited for South Australia will be an integral part of this journey in going from good to great.
**Rundown of Responsibilities**:
- Reporting to and working closely with the State Manager Operations, you will elevate the performance of your SA territory of approximately 20 stores
- You will bring a fresh lens and your influencing skills to all facets of people, operations, financial management and sales results. This will include inventory management, visual merchandising, loss prevention, OH&S, retail administration and rostering
- You will coach and facilitate business planning sessions with your business owners to drive sales and profitability targets
- You will develop strong relationships with your instore teams and set their sights higher by listening, coaching and developing them in all competency aspects of their business.
**What it Takes**:
- Ideally Experience as an **Area Manager or Multi-site Manager** in a retail business in which you have lifted store and people performance from good to great
- Your experience will come from a consultative environment perhaps in **franchising or member-based** businesses with extensive retail leadership experience and a strong operational background
- Proven experience implementing successful change initiatives and a high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to build strategic working relationships with a diverse range of people; you are an exceptional communicator
- Strong time management skills including prioritisation, organisation, multi-tasking and delegation when required.
- And paramount to your success is strong financial and analytical skills with a specific understanding of retail levers that drive profitability.
