**Victoria Police** **Forensic Services Department** **Forensic Operations** **Data and Information Systems Analyst role available** **VPS-3 Fixed Term (to 30.06.2027)** **About the role**: The Forensic Operations Support Unit is responsible for leading the development and delivery of key actions in support of the FSD Strategic Plan and other associated key priorities. The purpose of this role is to support to various clients across the Forensic Services Department, including the Office of the Executive Director, through the provision of business reports, extracts, and process mapping. Stakeholder engagement skills and individual initiative will be required. **Key accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to**: - Contribute to requirement gathering, documentation, design and implementation of business intelligence solutions that support operational insights and resource planning. - Analysing and cleansing data from FSD systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability for reporting and decision-making. - Collaborate with the Data and Analytics Team, internal FSD clients and operational staff to understand data needs and translate them into system or reporting enhancements. - Identifying opportunities for business improvement and communicating these to the Data and Analytics Team. - Run queries, processes, and reports primarily using SAS Enterprise Guide (SAS-EG), and other supported tools such as Power BI and Excel, to meet business reporting and analysis needs. **As the successful applicant, you will have**: - A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in data analytics. - The following skills would be highly regarded:_ - An understanding of the laboratory setting and its operations - Well-developed interpersonal skills for liaising with clients - Technical skills in data querying and reporting, especially using SAS tools, with a willingness to build proficiency through on-the-job experience. - An interest or background in data analysis and visualisation, including basic statistical concepts and the ability to interpret data in a meaningful way. **Requirements and relevant information**: - Position will be located at 31 Forensic Drive Macleod 3085. - Role is fixed term to 30.06.2027 - Commencing salary will be at base level of VPS-3 salary range. - **Resume** **Applications close 11.59pm**, Thursday 13**th** November 2025.** Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and support flexible working arrangements. **About Us**: Victoria Police has a dedicated workforce of more than 22,000 employees consisting of police, protective services officers, police custody officers, and public service staff.
