Revenue Officer

**The Opportunity**:

- Lithgow City Council _has an exciting opportunity for a **Revenue Officer **to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.

Reporting to the Senior Revenue Officer, you will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the efficient and effective processing and maintaining of databases, claims and delivery of Water/Sewer billing functions. You will perform revenue related administration tasks to facilitate levying of rates and water charge accounts in an accurate and timely manner.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

- Assist with the maintenance of the Water, Property and Rating database
- Assist with the processing of Pension Claims
- Provide quality customer service in accordance with Council Policy to both internal and external customers
- Provide support to the Senior Finance Officer with the maintenance and Delivery of Water/Sewer Billing Functions
- Relieve the Senior Finance Officer and other finance Officer roles and responsibilities when required

**About you**:

- Proficient in Microsoft word, excel, and outlook and computerised billing systems
- Analytical skills to aid in problem solving and a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in database maintenance
- Demonstrated experience in customer service and customer focus skills including negotiation and conflict resolution
- Highly developed time management and organisational skills
- Demonstrated highly developed written and verbal skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume area with the ability to work under pressure to meet required deadlines
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and Safety
- Demonstrated commitment to the principals of honesty and integrity
- Class C Driver Licence
- Knowledge of Local Government operations
- Understanding of rate policies and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of debt recovery processes
- Sound financial/accounting skills
- The ability to gain knowledge and skills through on-the-job training
- Technology One Rates and Water Billing Systems experience
- Understanding of Local Government Act 1993 & Valuation of Land Act 1916
