The Strategic Intelligence Unit (SIU) has responsibility for the provision of strategic advice and recommendations to senior management in QPS through the development of high-quality intelligence products and briefings.
The SIU proactively scans across six priority offence groups to identify emerging issues that require further assessment and analysis. The SIU also work with stakeholders to identify and recommend strategies and tactics that will tangibly improve crime and community safety in Queensland.
The strategic nature of the work also enables analysts to develop skillsets outside of traditional intelligence roles including project management, presenting to diverse audiences, and strategic writing.
Working within SIU allows staff to develop their skills and capability as an analyst, in a team with a supportive and positive culture and where there are ongoing training and development opportunities.
