**The Role**
The Engineering Assurance Manager at Surveillance and Control Systems Program Office (S&CSPO) provides critical support for the Chief Engineer (CENGR) to manage engineering governance and assurance, through definition of policy, assurance and provision of advice to industry and Commonwealth staff. This position also plays a key function in assessment of industry compliance and conformance against Defence policy and processes.

Primary tasks include the following:

- Govern the S&CSPO assurance model as defined by S&CSPO Engineering and Technical Assurance Plan
- Assure the health of Engineering and Technical (E&T) Function outcomes to CENGR
- Provide monitoring & control of assurance outcomes to CENGR in Governance and Assurance Tool and Activity Reports
- Provide guidance to E&T Governance and Assurance practices across the enterprise
- Support E&T monitoring & control across S&CSPO, e.g. governance templates and task management
- Ensure S&CSPO E&T Function achieves Defence policy outcomes

The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.

It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.

The successful applicant will be working as part of the Engineering Governance Team, helping to assure ongoing compliance and safety for the development and modification of Air Traffic Management and Air Battlespace Management Systems.

As the Engineering and Logistics Governance Unit acts primarily as a supporting agency with policy, frameworks and guidance to other stakeholders, the ability to prioritise and work proactively, work effectively and well in a high-pressure environment is essential.
