**About the opportunity**
As Transport Manager - Victoria, you will lead all transport operations across both Metropolitan and Regional Victoria, driving efficiency, safety, and service excellence across our growing network. Reporting directly to the General Manager - Southern Operations and as a key member of the Network Operations Southern Region Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our transport operations.
Overseeing a large, diverse team responsible for the day-to-day management of trucks and vans, you will ensure service delivery standards and compliance obligations are consistently met. You will lead strategic reviews and implement initiatives to enhance network effectiveness, optimise vehicle utilisation, and build driver capability.
With a strong focus on innovation, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration, delivering high-quality, end-to-end solutions that meet customer needs while maintaining cost efficiency and profitability in the face of increasing product volumes. **What you’ll deliver with us**
In this senior leadership role, you’ll be at the forefront of driving operational excellence, safety, and innovation across Victoria’s transport network. You will lead a large and diverse team, optimise end-to-end operations, and ensure our customers receive the reliable service they expect from Australia Post. With a focus on strategic initiatives, compliance, and cost efficiency, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our transport operations while fostering a strong safety and customer-first culture.
You will:
- Lead and manage all day-to-day transport operations across Victoria, ensuring safety, service, and compliance standards are consistently met.
- Drive strategic initiatives to improve network performance, optimise vehicle utilisation, and enhance driver capability.
- Collaborate across the network to deliver integrated, end-to-end operational solutions.
- Manage budgets effectively, identifying cost savings and network improvements in line with corporate goals.
- Champion a culture of safety, wellbeing, and customer-centricity across all teams.
- Lead, develop, and support your team to deliver high performance, continuous improvement, and career growth.
**About you**
You’re a proven logistics leader with extensive operational experience and a passion for driving high performance, safety, and cultural change. You excel at building strong relationships, influencing across all levels, and delivering results in complex and fast-paced environments. Your deep industry knowledge, commercial acumen, and commitment to customer service will see you succeed in this pivotal leadership role.
You will bring:
- 5+ years’ senior logistics leadership experience in large-scale operations.
- Strong track record in leading change, driving safety, and engaging diverse teams.
- Deep knowledge of logistics best practice, market trends, and compliance standards.
- Experience influencing leaders, managing remote teams, and resolving IR matters.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and optimise performance.
