Central Coast Local Area Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health Clinician Level 3 to join their Suicide Prevention Outreach Team (SPOT). This temporary full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to provide meaningful support to individuals experiencing suicidal distress, ensuring they receive the timely and clinically appropriate care they need to remain in their community when it is safe to do so. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team within the CCLHD Mental Health Service and will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based interventions, training, and support to enhance suicide prevention strategies across the region. This position will be based at Wyong Hospital and involves after-hours and weekend work as part of a community-focused approach to mental health care.
As a Health Clinician Level 3, you will be responsible for providing recovery-focused, evidence-based assessments, and therapeutic interventions to individuals at risk of suicide. You will utilise a collaborative, strengths-based approach, working closely with consumers, carers, families, and other stakeholders to deliver person-centred care. Your role will involve supporting and mentoring clinical staff in the provision of meaningful care in line with the CCLHD Suicide Prevention Pathway. You will provide clinical oversight, assist in the delivery of assertive suicide prevention outreach, and contribute to enhancing service delivery and partnerships within the wider Central Coast community. You will also support the development and integration of suicide prevention initiatives and provide training to build the capacity of the service.
**About You**
- You have relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing (with a focus on mental health) and eligibility for relevant professional registration (e.g., AHPRA or AASW).
- You have demonstrated clinical experience and skills to provide mental health care, especially in crisis situations, with a focus on suicide prevention and intervention.
- You have the ability to communicate effectively with patients, and clinicians, and can manage complex cases and deliver time-limited mental health care, including discharge planning for ongoing support and treatment needs.
- You hold a valid Australian Drivers' Licence and willingness to travel between sites across the Central Coast Local Health District.

**Where you’ll be working**
You will be working as part of the multidisciplinary Community Mental Health team at Wyong Hospital, providing services to individuals across the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). This includes outreach and after-hours care, working closely with external partners such as Central Coast Primary Care and Wayback Service to ensure efficient and effective referral pathways. The role requires flexibility, as you will need to operate within a largely ambulatory setting while also supporting community-based initiatives aimed at suicide prevention. You will be part of a newly-established service and play a key role in embedding this initiative within existing systems.an area known for its beautiful coastal environment and commitment to quality healthcare. This role will require you to work in various dental clinics across the district, including those with specialized facilities for patients with complex needs. You may also be required to assist in dental procedures performed in operating theatres, depending on your qualifications and training.
