**The Role**
The FSU-W Regional Resource Officer (RRO) is an out-posted position from FSU National Office located in Sydney CBD and is critical to FSU-AUST business operations due to the following:
- Accountable for the effective management of regional funding against priorities provided by National Office and the Regional Manager while providing advice and conducting all procurement activities for the region - both simple and complex.
- Responsible for the governance of all financial and procurement activities processed for the region in accordance with the relevant policy and procedures.
- Provide recommendations to optimise procurement activities within the region.
- Accountable for the development of the regional FSU annual budget in line with the overall FSU strategy, priorities and initiatives.
- Coordinate Plant and Machinery acquisition, sustainment and disposal activities at the regional level.
**About our Team**
The mission of Fleet Support Unit - Australia (FSU-AUST) is to provide Australia wide maintenance repair and overhaul products and services to CASG and Navy, and by doing so increase technical mastery of our personnel.
A key enabler for this to occur is the Regional Resource Officer (RRO) role which is out-posted from the National Office in Sydney CBD.
FSU-AUST is geographically dispersed across four states and made up of approximately 800 technical sailors and a small number of APS staff.
We are the largest employer of Technical Sailors in Navy and maintain a large number of outplacements with industry suppliers to upskill our workforce.
In concert with a highly skilled staff, FSU maintains significant engineering facilities and capabilities, which are used to generate extensive sustainment cost savings to Defence.
The National Office comprises approximately forty team members headed by the Executive Director and is located in Defence Plaza Sydney.
