About the role
The Forensic Liaison Officer will coordinate, support, monitor and report on the care and management of consumers under Forensic Orders within West Moreton's Community and Acute Mental Health Service.
This position will coordinate and provide direct care and management of consumers under Forensic Orders (as identified in the Mental Health Act 2016) and any other consumer as delegated by the Team Leader or Clinical Director.
This position is a contact point for specialist forensic services and criminal justice agencies, ensuring continuity of care and the smooth transition of consumers between services.
This role may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive. See link - Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Scheme
About you
- High level ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and within the state-wide FLO network to utilise well developed clinical skills in the assessment, treatment, risk management and care of consumers on Forensic Orders.
- High level understanding of Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 and the ability to provide advice on how to translate legislation, policies, and standards into practice.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard in the mental health service.
- Commitment to personal education, professional development, clinical and professional supervision and a commitment to leading the development of colleagues through the provision of education, supervision and mentorship and the promotion of personal and professional accountability.

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
