**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Director, Organisational Safety, the Manager, Operations, you will work autonomously to lead the operational safety functions within the Organisational Safety team to assist OIR in ensuring the health and safety of its people as a core priority.
You will be supported in the delivery of co-ordinated activities of the Organisational Safety unit to manage and respond to health and safety risks that provide oversight conducive to good governance practices.
You will work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders and workgroups to lead, develop and profile an aspirational goal of a work environment free of injury or incidents, drive a strengthened safety culture, as well as set a best practice in OIR's workplace health and safety systems.
Key Responsibilities are outlined in the role description and include:

- leading a team
- monitoring and reviewing functionality of the OIR HSW Management System (HSWMS)
- providing strategic and high-quality advice to senior management and employees
- support the implementation and management of contemporary WHS governance arrangements and a performance framework
- leading assessment, risk management and incident investigation processes
- consulting and providing analysis and specialist advice to senior executives and people leaders
- partnering with stakeholders across a geographically dispersed business.

About the Team
The Organisational Safety team leads strategic programs aligned to the Public Sector Commission outcomes for health and safety and inclusive workplaces.
**We're accountable for**:

- Establishing and maintaining a contemporary health, safety and wellbeing management system incorporating governance, strategy, policies and procedures
- Building manager and employee capability in work health and safety requirements
- Partnering with business units to support effective hazard identification, risk management and incident investigation.
- Promoting awareness of health and safety hazards and supporting the identification and implementation of effective control measures.
- Co-ordinating and facilitating pro-active engagement and with our health and safety representatives (HSR's).
- your current resume, including contact details for at least one referee who has thorough knowledge of your conduct and performance within the past two years
- a letter or statement (one to two pages) that addresses the 'What are we looking for' section of the role description.
