Manager - Private Corporate Tax  

The opportunity 

As a manager in our Private tax team, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of exciting established large private businesses/corporates, high net wealth individuals and families and entrepreneurial start-up businesses. In this role you will have significant opportunities for learning, career advancement, and exposure to both private and corporate clients, including cross-border and international tax work.

This is a hybrid position based in Meanjin – Brisbane. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options. 

Your key responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of diverse growth clients including privately owned corporate groups (operating in Australia and internationally), privately owned business, high net wealth families, trusts, and other privately owned entities. 
  • Oversee tax compliance, financial statements, planning, and assisting on advisory services for extensive client groups featuring diverse entity types such as companies (including tax consolidated groups), trusts, partnerships, and individuals. 
  • Working directly with Partners and senior Tax specialists in delivering consulting advice to privately owned corporate groups, high-net-worth individuals, family businesses, and their owners on intricate tax matters, including corporate restructures, domestic and cross-border transactions, capital gains tax, Division 7A, and specific trust issues. 

Skills and attributes for success  

  • Experience in Tax Consulting, ideally in a top-tier or second-tier accounting firm or legal firm.
  • Experience in managing junior staff and their development.
  • Advanced tax technical knowledge relevant to corporate groups, trusts and individuals.

Ideally, you'll have the skills and attributes below but don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes. We're interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.  

  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients 
  • Tax experience, preferably gained in a professional services environment in Australia  
  • Excellent client facing skills with the confidence to lead client meetings and build a network
