The primary role of the Regulatory Reform Lead is to identify regulatory reforms impacting Finance Operations, and lead the relevant change implementation within Mercer to ensure compliance.

Support the wider team to address key risks and issues and providing solutions to the wider Finance Operations Team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ongoing monitoring of accounting and regulatory reporting requirements within the superannuation space and ensure appropriate engagement of internal stakeholders (eg: program delivery team and regulatory reform team) to initiate change process.
- Provide support to management on discovery and delivery in the relevant projects representing Finance Operations team. Provide SME input into the projects where relevant, including but not limited to:

- Interpret new accounting standards, APRA reporting standard and other changes impacting on financial & regulatory reporting.
- Work with the Accounting Policy & Risk Manager to develop policy papers in relation to the changes.
- Work with Project Management Office (PMO) to implement the required changes
- Provide ongoing support to finance operations team members in managing client queries in relation to the changes
- Provide ongoing support for Finance Operations team members in managing regulatory change projects related queries from clients and project updates to Finance Operations team. Develop and maintain written procedures for critical changes. Identify opportunities to enhance processes and develop practical solutions.

- Provide technical training for new accounting standards, APRA reporting standard changes and other changes impacting on financial reporting. Provide ongoing accounting standard interpretation support to fund accounting team members.
- Provide support and assistance to the Accounting Policy and Risk Manager in discrete ad hoc tasks for projects, control frameworks, incident and risk management, as required, ensuring the team's key deliverables are effectively covered. Planning and tracking of deliverables and addressing risks and controls to associated processes.

**What you need to have**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related discipline or relevant industry experience
- CA or CPA preferred
- 5-10 plus years within Financial Services Industry.
- Financial services regulatory experience essential with strong preference for superannuation specific experience.

- Deep technical knowledge in superannuation financial and regulatory reporting.
- Strong proven interpersonal & communication skills at all levels in an organization, both written and verbal and internally and with clients.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
