**Freight Branch**

Our mission is to give Freight branch a louder voice, earlier by raising freight’s profile as a fundamental customer of the transport system, to enable the safe, productive, and sustainable movement of goods. We work in partnership across Transport, at all levels of government and with industry to deliver improved freight outcomes for the people of NSW.

Our team of about 130 people is geographically dispersed across NSW. We use innovative technologies to collaborate with each other, our stakeholders and customers. By having a team spread across our metropolitan, outer metropolitan and regional areas, we can work empathetically and effectively with our customers and communities. Our team has a great diversity of background, experience and insights helping us to mirror the diverse communities we serve

**The Opportunity**

Freight Branch is based in our Parramatta office but we work flexibly. The role will develop policy responses and solutions to facilitate economic development outcomes through leveraging transport assets, infrastructure and programs.

Some of the key requirements of the role include:

- Manage a small team and oversee the development of innovative solutions and policy advice.
- Develop policies and strategies in partnership with other Government agencies and stakeholders.
- Research, analyse and develop complex policy submissions, advice and recommendations to enable informed decision making.
- Liaise and consult with other divisions of TfNSW, and transport operating agencies to identify economic development opportunities that align and integrate with transport service and infrastructure planning and delivery.
- Liaise with and influence colleagues across Transport for NSW to facilitate Economic Innovation outcomes.
- Develop economic development initiatives including determining clear accountabilities for delivery agencies and external delivery partners.
- Represent Transport's position in meetings with government departments, non-government organisations, industry, and the community.

**About you**

You will have the ability to work independently and contribute effectively, in a collaborative team environment whilst maintaining a high level of work ethic. We are looking for someone who is organised and customer focused who can demonstrate excellent time management and prioritisation skills, thrive under pressure and is energised by the challenges presented in our complex and ever-changing work environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for the role. You’re a strong communicator and influential team player, who is capable of building key relationships with a wide range of stakeholders internally. You will need to work collaboratively with your team to inspire direction, and assist them to develop skills and competencies across the business and overcome challenges.

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($142,178- $ 59,238) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
