**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking a Career Educator to join Learning and Teaching Unit, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.
The primary purpose of the Career Educator is to provide timely and targeted services and strategies to support the career development and employability of all students and enable students’ connection with industry. The Career Educator will work in partnership with the SSTA Strategic Leads and Managers, STEM Educators, Language and Learning Educators, and other Career Educators from across the faculties to contribute to the work of SSTA strategic priorities including: - Student partnership and peer programs. - Industry engagement, professional identity development, and work integrated learning (WIL) support. - Curriculum planning and resource development. - Student retention and learning analytics. - University-wide initiatives such as Orientation. The incumbent works as an integral member of a faculty based SSTA team of Senior Educators and Educators.

**What you need to succeed**
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree in a field related to career development practice, with at least four years’ experience demonstrably consistent with the competencies set down in the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners.
- Proven experience in promoting and teaching others to develop the strategies needed to engage effectively in career development and employability in physical (face-to-face) and virtual environments.
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues which affect adult career development, retention and success in higher education, as well as a commitment to working from a social justice framework.
