
Career Connect Officer

The Career Connect Officer is responsible for
providing operational and business support for
career connect services, career mentoring and
industry connect services managed by the
central Career Connect team in the SSG
Career Development and Employability
portfolio.
This position reports to the Senior Career
Educator, Career Connect for supervision,
workload management and for Performance
Planning and Review (PPR).
**Key responsibilities include**:.***
- Provide operational and business support
for SSG Career Development and
Employability portfolio activities, including
maintaining online resources and
processing job opportunities on UniHub.
- Collaborate with and assist Career
Educators in the planning, development
and delivery of careers education content in
a variety of forms.
- Facilitate industry presentations and work
with student peer advisors to schedule,
moderate and meet and greet, including
supporting the organisation of QUT’s
participation in the annual Big Meet and
associated activities.
- Undertake operational activities in support
of the QUT Career Mentoring Program and
related Platform, including matching
mentors and mentees, organising
workshops and events and managing
system requirements.
- Work with industry partners, maintaining
key contacts and records of company
profiles to enable timely communications.
- Monitor online QUT student communication
accounts, UniHub) and alerts, providing an
effective and accurate response.
- Work in collaboration with HiQ and industry
groups to achieve agreed objectives.
- Maintain accurate records ensuring
compliance with records management
policy.
- Compliance with health and safety policies,
procedures, hazard reporting and safe work
practices.
To ensure job flexibility the successful
appointee may be required to:
- perform any other duties as nominated by
the University consistent with the relevant
classification descriptors detailed in the
Enterprise Agreement. Staff undertaking
any new duties will receive training;
- participate in job rotation or multiskilling in
consultation with their supervisor;
- work across campuses.

Two appointments will be offered on a fixed
- term, full-time basis for two (2) years.

Selection Criteria
1. Education, training and/or relevant
experience equivalent to completion of a
degree.
2. Demonstrated experience in helping to
organise and facilitate events and
presentations, including use of on-line
systems to manage and promote events.
3. Demonstrated digital literacy including the
ability to use standard office software
(word processing, spreadsheets,
large-scale databases, and experience in
managing system requirements.
4. Effective interpersonal skills including the
ability to collaborate and communicate
effectively with colleagues and team
members, internal and external clients, and
other staff and students within the
University.
5. Demonstrated time management skills and
attention to detail including the ability to
prioritise tasks, work under pressure to
meet deadlines, and provide a professional
service within a busy customer focussed
environment.
**Remuneration and Benefits**
The classification for this position is Higher
Education Worker Level 5 (HEW5) which has
an annual remuneration range of $83,609 to
$94,271 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual
salary range of $70,650 to $79,660 pa, 17%
superannuation, and leave loading.
