**The Role**
As the Professional Experience Support Officer, you will play an integral role in coordinating student placements and Career-ready Placement activities that align with academic program requirements. Working closely with academic leads, placement providers, and students, you'll ensure smooth planning, scheduling, and administration of placements across a variety of disciplines.
More specifically you will:
- Plan and schedule student placements in collaboration with academic leads, adhering to curriculum and placement calendars.
- Process placement requests, manage associated data and payments in SONIA, and maintain accurate placement records.
- Liaise with placement providers and partners to allocate students, resolve allocation issues, and escalate complex matters when necessary.
- Coordinate pre
- and post-placement communication with service providers/industry partners.
- Advise students on externally mandated compliance requirements.
- Contribute to the development of effective administrative processes and support systems for student placements and Career-ready Placements.
- Prepare accurate reports and placement data for external reporting and internal stakeholders.
- Respond to student and provider enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with team members to review and improve placement operations and resolve day-to-day issues.
Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities will help deliver high-quality placement experiences that prepare students for their professional careers.
This Fixed Term position is part - time at a HEW 5 Higher Education Level until the end of January 2026 and located at Callaghan Campus.

- A statement addressing the Essential Criteria listed below demonstrating your qualifications and experience with examples.
- Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- High-level organisational skills and demonstrated attention to detail, including the ability to organise workflows to meet competing demands and ability to be adaptable with changing expectations and requirements.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to participate in a team environment demonstrating clear communication and mutual respect.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated high-level computer literacy, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite and corporate software systems such as SONIA, UON Timetable, Blackboard, TRIM and NUSTAR.
- Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
