**The Opportunity**

Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity for a Multiple Finance Officers to join the Finance Division.

Based in
**Richmond** or
**Geelong** at an APS6 level, initial approval for 12 months from initial employment, with the potential to extend, paying an hourly rate of $58.50 + Super.

The client is offering 37.5 hour working weeks, with 2 days working from home, and the remainder on site, with a consistent starting and finishing time. The client is offering a work environment that is community focused and provides a healthy work-life balance.

**The Role**

The APS6 Finance Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

The position is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

**Responsibilities**
- Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects.
- Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
- Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.
- Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
- Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
- Preparing a range of written material including business cases, reports and corporate documentation.
- Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications.
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/division’s variance to budget and forecast.
- Undertaking financial administration and across the division’s cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.

**Furthermore, the successful APS6 Finance Officer’s will have 1 of the following 2 sets of responsibilities**:
**Role A**:

- Undertaking day-to-day analytical work and project management on a range of scheme related tasks including regular and one-off analyses and ad hoc requests.
- Undertaking excel data model work to load, cleanse and transform Scheme data.
- Contributing to the development of Scheme reporting, assisting in the establishment of quality assurance and governance processes around all CFO reporting.
- Analysing Scheme data, interpreting trends, utilising problem solving, an ability to connect analysis and insights to address problems and questions.
- Collaborating with key staff within the CFO group and across the Agency to ensure consistent use of data and reporting and internal/external messaging.
- Presenting the outcomes of work undertaken to senior management and other stakeholders. Collaborating with a small group of team members in the Scheme Reporting Team. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (charting, manipulation & pivot tables) is required. Previous SAP experience is desirable.

**Role B**:

- Experience in SAS Enterprise Guide (including coding with SAS and SQL).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Highly developed skills in data analysis and report development including experience in using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or SAS Visual Analytics.
- Ability to interpret and transform data into presentable dashboards.

**About You**:

- Tertiary accounting qualifications including a CA, CPA or IPA qualifications and membership is highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in similar finance roles within heavily regulated environments - any government or public sector experience nice to have
- Complex financial modelling expertise
- Advanced Excel and Power Queries
- Strong multi-dimensional analysis (MDX)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with senior stakeholders
- Excellent time management, planning and efficiency
- ** Australian Citizenship is a requirement for this role**
